ZSA is a multi-disciplined award winning architectural company, established in 1991 as Luc Zeghers Architects. We are based in Sandton, Johannesburg but operate nationwide in South Africa and have undertaken work in other countries. We have been involved in a variety of projects of different sizes in the residential, educational, leisure and commercial architectural fields.

First and foremost our focus is on the well being of inhabitants in the spaces and buildings we design. Our holistic approach to any project ensures buildings that are well designed to fit the environment, the site and its characteristics. We work closely with clients to ensure all their requirements are met.

We believe that the design and treatment of the interior spaces and the layouts of the exterior areas should form an integral part of the design process. We therefore also offer and interior and landscaping design service. We are innovative in our approach and dedicated to good functional, well proportioned architecture with appropriate detailing. We also focus on the energy efficiency of our buildings and are well equipped to advise on the green aspects of architecture.

Luc Zeghers completed his Bachelor of Architecture degree at the ‘Hoger Architectuurinstituut van de stad Gent’, Belgium in 1984 and shortly thereafter relocated to South Africa in 1985.

After gaining experience in major architectural firms and a mining house in Johannesburg, Luc started his own practice in 1991. Luc has won awards, his work has been published on South African radio and tv, in coffee table books and most of the building related magazines in South Africa.

Luc is an all round dynamic, extremely creative architect with excellent project management skills. Luc has recently also become a ‘competent’ person with regards to the implementation of energy efficiency in buildings.
